Oakdale is dedicated to the dual purpose Labrador : a dog with beauty and
brains. We have bred confirmation champions, UKC hunting retriever champions,
AKC junior, senior and master hunters, as well as many fireside and hunting
companions.

We pride ourselves on breeding excellent temperaments and sound bodies. We believe in the "true Labrador type" : the type of Labrador that makes a fine gun dog and retriever, and can win in the breed ring. A powerful, wise, and kind dog :

Oakdale has owned Labradors for the past two decades. Fifteen of those years were spent seasoning and showing Labradors in various competitions. Joyce Woods, until recently, had spent the past five years in training.

She is a licensed UKC hunting retriever test judge at the Seasoned level and her husband, Jim, is a UKC finished level judge. Both have been judging for the past 14 years. They have shown their own dogs, but occasionally they have used a professional handler.

Her dogs have been featured on Ducks Unlimited T-shirts, as well as dog food and newspaper ads. Three of her dogs are even pictured on Southern States dog food bags and brochures.

Dogs from Oakdale's kennels have acquired many titles - some including : champions, hunting retrievers, hunting retriever champions, Master, Senior and Junior Hunters, companion dog titles, drug detection, and are also wonderful pets.

Oakdale prides themselves on the calm temperament of their dogs.
